Little Story
A complete beginner.
My Childhood Music Class
In my elementary school, there was a big black piano in the music room.
My teacher wore square glasses and looked very elegant, like a lady from a rich family.
The black board’s chalk tray, always placed a long stick, but it was just for keeping the beat.
At that time, I had no idea what music notes meant.
Since grades were the most important thing in school, nobody really cared about music class.
We just didn’t take it seriously.
I loved music class in the summer because the air conditioning was always so cold!
Walking into that cool room from the hot weather outside felt amazing.
To me, things like recorders and music theory were like a magician’s tools—I couldn’t understand any of them.
I was a complete blank slate with no musical talent at all.
I remember once we had to play “Little Honey Bee” on the recorder.
I didn’t know how to read the music, so I just memorized the finger movements by heart.
It’s such a funny childhood memory!
